TUAM RESERVES had that little bit more firepower when overcoming Buccaneers Thirds 8-5 in their Connacht J2 League meeting at Dubarry Park, Athlone, on Sunday. In a predominantly forwards battle, Tuam came from behind to secure their narrow win.

Sean Byrne was pick of the home forwards and he touched down for their try. Gaelic star John Donnellan replied with a penalty for the visitors before halftime and Tuam grabbed the only score of the second half, their try proving the decisive one in this encounter. Darragh Lennon also did well in the home pack while John O’Shaughnessy and Emmet Egan fared best in the Buccs backline.
