GANLYS OF ATHLONE emerged triumphant in Buccaneers Annual Golf Classic
which was staged at Glasson Golf Hotel & Country Club recently.
The scenic course was at its immaculate best and, with the weather staying
fine for the majority of the day for the decent number of teams participating,
scoring was good. Michael Ganly was joined by Martin Flynn, Frank Grehan
and Kieran Compton in the winning quartet. John Kennedy’s SUPERMACS
were runners-up with Ray Flanagan leading his squad to third place.

Mike Glennon and Eamonn Barrett won the ‘Nearest the Hole’ prizes with Tony Kelly and Paddy O’Boyle taking the ‘Longest Drive’ honours.
The club extends thanks to all who participated, especially the players
and sponsors. Thanks too to the small team of organisers for this popular
event – Hugh Conlon, Geraldine Kenny, Eamonn Fagan and Sean Og Hurley.
